Description

Ukko is a sweet, compact male with an upright frame and an alert, but calm presence. He presents with correct conformation, and a healthy, but attractive degree of coverage. He is light fawn, and darker than either of his parents, both of whom come from colour producing lines presenting some potentially interesting breeding possibilities in Ukko's future.

Ukko is displaying a very soft handling fleece with lovely character and uniformity in style throughout. He cut a heavy first fleece, weighing 7.2lbs total (10% of his total body weight!) While averaging 145mm in length across his blanket, and 120mm through the mid neck. This fleece similarly boasted an along staple AFD of 16.9 Microns, with a low CV. His regrowth continues to impress.

Sired by Northern Mystery's Erasmus, and out of Anasazi, Ukko's parents were paired with the intention of improving traits in fleece weight, staple length, and uniformity across the fleece. Erasmus continues to sit within the top 1.8% of EPD's for MSL, and the top 2.5% for FW, continuing to cut heavy fleece weights while maintaining his staple length. Anasazi, on the other hand, shows strengths on maintaining fineness, and uniformity of micron and length throughout her fleece, displaying a lower degree of coarse primaries in her prime fleece. Both she and Erasmus maintain low CV's, in addition to excellent fleece regrowth annually.

Ukko is offered for sale to the right home-- this gentle boy would be an asset to any home looking for a softhearted animal who is willing to please, who will be good with anyone who chooses to handle him. For anyone looking for an animal who can produce uniform, long stapled fleeces for years to come, Ukko would not disappoint.
